Semi-Permanent Eyeliner

Semi-Permanent eyeliner In London

The second popular semi-permanent makeup treatment after microblading and eyebrow tattoos requested at my London salon is semi-permanent eyeliner. This can be in the form of a subtle lash line that enhances the base of your lashes or can be done as a straight line or with pointillism, which is the placement of tiny dots of pigment in between the lashes, which is very natural looking.
Then there is the fuller, thicker semi-permanent tattoo eyeliner often used to define the shape of the eye to make them look larger and more ‘almond shaped’ by extending the eyeliner outwards. Asian women, on the other hand, often want their eye shape to look more rounded and have a line smudge thicker at the centre of the lash line, which can also be achieved.
Whatever style you choose, the wonderful thing about semi-permanent eyeliner, like other cosmetic tattooing procedures, is it is gym proof, shower-proof, and waterproof. Not to mention the time saved in the morning putting on eye makeup, getting ready for work. And if you’re going out in the evening and want more of a dramatic look, you can still use mascara and eyeliner pencils or gels for a more extreme look by thickening and lengthening the tail. (I don’t advise having heavy cat-eye tails tattooed on as fashions change, and once tattooed, it’s pretty much permanent even though it fades).

Eyeliner Tattoo Colours

The most popular lash enhancement colour for permanent eyeliner is black. Still, other colours are available, including shades of brown and grey – and for the more adventurous, green, blue, and violet can really make the eyes ‘Pop.’ Although black is the most popular choice, some care needs to be taken with black eyeliner tattoos. To ensure the black doesn’t fade out to blue as the tattoo ages, I always warm the colour up to a very, very dark brownish black. This eliminates this possible issue.

Is a Semi-Permanent Eyeliner Tattoo painful?

Some clients are worried that permanent eyeliner treatment will be painful. Before starting, we apply a numbing cream to the eye area. In most cases, this will make the eyeliner procedure relatively painless. Some people have greater sensitivity or a lower pain threshold than others, and these clients may find the procedure mildly uncomfortable, but generally, most clients experience little or no pain.

Permanent Eyeliner Aftercare

You may be surprised to learn that the semi-permanent eyeliner healing process is probably the fastest and least problematic of all permanent makeup healing. Providing your health is generally good, and you use an experienced permanent makeup artist, you can expect any scabbing or crusts to be completely healed within a week.
At around 6 weeks, you will be ready for your follow-up appointment. At this point, we make any touch ups or adjustments that may be necessary. We can also alter the shape to a point if you desire during the follow-up appointment.
Overall, this is a treatment that is pain-free, long-lasting, and gives you perfect eyeliner, even when you first wake up.
